Finally got some time this weekend to work and rework areas of this dude man. I plan to take this much further with more rendering, texture and materials...while keeping some areas painterly....
i think its definitely got improvement. i would check your light sources and make sure everything (e.g.,his sword/staff) is all getting lit correctly. i would loose some detail in the less necessary areas like the lower half of the body. one thing i've noticed about metal to is that there are super dark darks and super light light and they can even be very close together with out much gradation so you might want to check out metal reference. anyway i hope this helps. - eric ryan
